EMG goes USA: CU @ NPE & ACS

It’s that time again — time for the Sunshine State to briefly become the center of the plastics universe for one week. The NPE 2018 trade fair from May 7-11 will again collocate with the Society of Plastics Engineers’ big ANTEC technical conference in Orlando, Florida, in early May – bringing together more than 65,000 expo visitors and some 1,500 SPE conference participants in what could be called “Polymerpalooza.”

With more than 2,000 companies covering 1.1 million net square feet of exhibit space, NPE 2018 (www.npe.org) will feature 11 Technology Zones, including space devoted to such topics as bottle manufacturing, 3D and 4D printing, sustainability, and medical parts processing. The show’s organizer, the Plastics Industry Association (aka “PLASTICS”), also is introducing a Plastics Leadership Summit, and will stage Expert Super Sessions on topics such as Industry 4.0, automation and packaging. And NPE, as usual, will play host to the Sunday evening ceremony inducting the latest nine members to the Plastics Hall of Fame.

SPE, meanwhile, from May 7-10 will showcase more than 550 technical presentations, including a new Technical Marketing track, at its ANTEC conference (www.4spe.org/antec). With plenary talks, student activities, a women’s “connections breakfast”, a product design competition, a 5K fun run, and awards ceremonies of its own, ANTEC promises to offer an action-packed complement to the expo show floor.

EMG team members have attended every NPE since 1991 (and before) – and this year, once again, we will be supporting a number of our clients who are exhibiting, taking care of pre, during and after NPE communications. These range from press conference organisation, setting up 1-to-1 interviews, development of press material and development and negotiation of advertising.

American Coatings Show

Before the NPE, the 6th American Coatings Show - North America's Premier Event for the Paint & Coatings Industry – will be held from 10 until 12 April at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The show has more than 580 exhibitors – and the organisers say they expect it to be record breaking.

One of the key topics that is expected to feature extensively during the ACS is the tailoring of the surface properties of bulk materials. New surface coatings and technologies make it possible to give a surface certain beneficial characteristics which cannot be attained by the material alone.

Here too, the EMG team is working with its clients on media and communications activities, including turnkey booth preparation; press conference organisation, setting up 1-to-1 interviews, development of press material and advertising.
