Fresh perspectives, while maintaining a successful content-driven course

Rikke Wivel joins EMG as its new CEO, as our course at the forefront of global industrial technology marketing communications continues.

Hardly a day passes when I don’t reflect on how much industrial technology marketing communications has positively evolved over the last couple of decades. It’s been so exciting to be part of this revolution.

When I co-founded EMG in 1991, it was all about connecting directly with journalists through press releases and other forms of media outreach. To be fair, it continued in this way for many years until the digital revolution took over in the mid-2000s and content marketing took off.

A new age in content-driven communications

Today successful marketing communications relies on a comprehensive multi-platform strategy that involves reaching a diverse range of thought leaders and influencers. Companies need to talk about their progress in sustainability and qualify claims through real data and excellent storytelling.

At EMG we started making this evolution towards being a great content marketing partner more than 10 years ago, by proactively working with our customers across multiple channels internationally. This resulted in PR & communications campaigns that included advertising, events, social media, videos, positioning and much more.

Now it’s time to go even further down this successful road by announcing a leadership change. I’m so delighted to announce the appointment of Rikke Wivel as our new CEO to take us further on our content-driven trajectory. At the same time, I will take up the role of Chairman and will work closely with Rikke in cementing and expanding EMG’s footprint in technology communications and by building on new and existing relationships.

A leadership change from a position of strength

Making a change at an operational level is a decision that can never be taken lightly. But doing so from a position of strength gives you so much more time to ensure that you are making the right choice. With Rikke, my fellow partners and I are fully confident that this is the case. We know that her marketing communications expertise, start-up spirit and creativity will help our clients to expand their communications strategies. She’ll be a true complement to the current team.

Rikke comes to EMG on the back of 20 years of experience as a creative visionary, having always operated within the intersection of marketing communications, business strategy, and digital. Having worked globally at companies as diverse as Cirque du Soleil, Monster, Staples Europe and Beiersdorf, she has marketed anything from office supplies to luxury brands.

I strongly believe that her experience across all areas of communications will offer fresh perspectives and help to open up new opportunities for you, and your businesses. It’s safe to say that you can expect to see even more marketing communications creativity in the months and years ahead from the dedicated EMG staff.

A new and exciting chapter

If I were to summarise, Rikke’s appointment will be a change at the top for EMG, but our strategic direction in offering holistic, content-driven marketing communications support will be maintained.

I’ll be working closely with Rikke in the months ahead to ensure a seamless transition. It is all about maintaining EMG’s uniqueness in our close and long-standing relationships with our clients and having a pulse on what is happening in the diverse industries in which they are active. So, whether you are operating in materials, ingredients, industrial automation, additive manufacturing or any of the other industrial technology sectors we serve, you can continue to rely on EMG for results-driven campaigns, as we go that extra mile for you.

It’s a new chapter for EMG and a very exciting one. I’m delighted that Rikke will guide us even further down our successful course as we all work together to “create, connect and communicate”.
